What We Do

We are on a mission

…to promote and protect the rights of children and young people with disabilities in Zambia.

In doing so, we are striving for a world in which children with disabilities are able to fully enjoy their rights and fundamental freedom on an equal basis with other children.

We are a membership organization

…whose members are drawn from parents of children with disabilities and individuals interested in working with children with disabilities.

Together, we advocate for children with disabilities and their families, ensuring equal opportunities, access to services and a life of dignity for all. We focus on holistic family support, building capacity with parents and creating inclusive environments for children to thrive.

We work with parents

…to promote and protect the rights of children and young people with disabilities in Zambia.

We do this by creating an enabling environment for parents of children with disabilities to advocate for such rights, through five main activities:

Parent support and capacity building

Early childhood intervention services

Inclusive education and teacher training

Livelihoods support

Advocacy and awareness raising

We work in collaboration with other DPOs, government departments, health institutions and international organizations to ensure comprehensive services for children with disabilities with their families.

We also work with national, regional and international partners to further our advocacy aims.
